Our Team
Colin Chadwick: Business Owner and Main Tree Climber
Colin has a real passion for trees and all things arboricultural! He founded the business in 2003 after completing a BSc (Hons) in Forestry at Bangor University in 1994 and working as a tree surgeon for Warwickshire County Council.
Colin offers a bespoke service and personally visits all clients to discuss their tree care needs. He is a talented tree surgeon who undertakes most of the tree climbing himself and with 22 years experience, is both knowledgeable and a real expert in his field; with an enviable local reputation. Safety at all times and the aesthetics of tree care are his primary concerns. Colin particularly specialises in difficult or dangerous trees, such as trees over buildings or suffering from disease, and how to manage these trees and promote tree health. Colin has appeared in an episode of BBC2 Gardeners World and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for trees in illustrated talks.
Hobbies: Gardening and making things out of wood.
Matthew: Head Groundsperson and Tree Climber
Matthew is incredibly hard-working and a real asset to the team. He has an extensive knowledge of the latest rope techniques and is a qualified tree climber and skilled chainsaw operative. He establishes safe working areas and clear lines of communication with the rest of the team and takes real pride in his work.
Hobbies: Wall climbing and hiking.
Hannah
Hannah is the newest member to our team and her supreme fitness, and great sense of humour, make her an excellent addition. She establishes safe working areas and processes brash and timber, including using our Timberwolf chipper, with a keen eye on health and safety.
Hobbies: Ultra and Marathon running when she isn’t coaching other runners.
Jennie: Groundsperson
Jennie is an enthusiastic team member who is superb at traffic management and a key part of the ‘clear-up’ operation on a large job. She possesses excellent rope lowering techniques and really enjoys using our Timberwolf chipper.
Hobbies: Sailing, DIY and baking.
Nicola Chadwick: Business Manager
As Colin’s wife, it really is a family business!
Nicola enjoys being the first point of contact for the business, managing its day-to-day running and disseminating information to our large client base. She liaises with Devon, Plymouth, Dartmoor and Cornwall councils’ planning departments; traffic management teams, SWEB and highways; equipment and tree suppliers and other sub-contractors. Having a business manager ensures the smooth running of the business and the satisfaction of receiving great customer feedback! She loves to promote this success in our social media and advertising campaigns. It is a great industry to photograph and seeing the team hard at work on site is usually combined with cake!
Hobbies: Long-distanced running, growing roses, baking.
